Donations

Donations made through the Website and to The Democracy Fund (“TDF”), or through third parties or business partners, are legally made to TDF, a charity registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (Registration Number: 779176676 RR 0001), and TDF issues the official tax receipt. To facilitate communication in this regard, donors consent to receive communications from TDF and these other parties. In the case where insufficient information is provided by a donor to TDF such that an official tax receipt cannot be issued to the donor, TDF will make reasonable efforts to remedy the deficiency by attempting to contact the donor. TDF determines the allocation of funds at our own discretion. (Unless otherwise stated on a specific campaign page.)

Surplus Donations for Specific Initiatives

Donations raised for a specific initiative are allocated to that initiative. Where specific donations exceed the cost of a specific initiative, surplus donations are applied to TDF’s other charitable work. 

Monthly Donations

Monthly donations will automatically renew every fourth week commencing from your donation date. You must cancel your monthly donation before the renewal date to prevent the next charge to your credit card.

You may cancel your monthly donation at any time by contacting TDF using the Contact Us form on our website.

Refunds of Donations

TDF follows CRA guidelines for donation refunds and does not perform refunds of donations except under circumstances that TDF deems appropriate and at its sole discretion. If a refund is issued, TDF will cancel the original donation receipt issued to the donor.

Copyright

All content on this Website (including, without limitation, text, design, graphics, logos, icons, images, video and audio clips, downloads, interfaces, code and software) is the exclusive property of and owned by TDF, its licensors or its content providers and is protected by copyright, trademark and applicable laws.

License

As indicated above, unless otherwise stated, TDF and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on TheDemocracyFund.ca. All intellectual property rights are reserved. You may view and/or print pages from TheDemocracyFund.ca, and its corresponding web pages, for your own personal use, subject to restrictions set in this Agreement and Privacy Policy.

You must not:

1. Republish material from TheDemocracyFund.ca under any circumstances unless otherwise approved by TDF via its prior written permission;
2. Sell, rent or sub-license material from TheDemocracyFund.ca;
3. Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from TheDemocracyFund.ca; or,
4. Redistribute content from TDF or TheDemocracyFund.ca (unless content is specifically made for redistribution and is so specified)

TDF may link to third party websites and other social media. The fact that TDF links or provides a link to other websites does not mean that TDF endorses or recommends them to you. Although TDF is prudent and responsible when it does so, TDF cannot guarantee that these links are reliable, appropriate or useful to you since these links are controlled by other parties. Therefore, TDF cannot take responsibility for the links or content. By clicking on a link, you agree not to hold TDF responsible for any resulting harm that may occur.

Frames and Metatags

You may not frame the content of this Website. You may not use metatags or any other "hidden text" that incorporates TDF trademarks or the TDF name without TDF’s express written consent.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and deemed to be entered into by you in the Province of Ontario.
